The Makana Way
We are on an apathy-killing, industry-rattling mission to create powerful leaders of teens who are finding their way. We are a nonprofit organization to ensure that our boss never becomes “quarterly returns” or an arm’s-length group of investors. Instead, we answer to the long-term success of our students and their families. Every decision, investment, and effort we make must directly impact positive outcomes. Our mandate, therefore, is to continually improve our ability to help young people heal from whatever wounds they’ve suffered and awaken their intrinsic drive to succeed.
We hold ourselves accountable while helping each other achieve results. We take pride in our work. we do not believe in the outdated ‘command and control’ business mindset. We believe in teamwork and collaboration. We value one another’s input and evaluate everything in terms of client outcomes. There is no hierarchy when it comes to great ideas, innovation, and organizational growth. Results rule the day at Makana. If this inspires you, Bring your “A Game” and let’s talk!

– Michelle S.
"I love seeing the real change in our students when they begin to discover their potential. It is rewarding to be a part of a team of such good human beings that work so hard to help heal each individual and family we serve."
"I chose to work with youth because I can relate to them and our youth need more people to help support and understand them. My two older sisters were in and out of therapeutic programs and both have unfortunately passed on. Thankfully, I was able to learn from them and I want to help other kids who need it."
– Kayla J.
"I love working with genuine people who I know care about me as a person and want me to succeed. Being a part of a program that is changing the industry is so rewarding. My own children struggled and it means the world to me to help other kids even in the smallest way."
– M Smith
"Working for an organization that is so committed to creating change is very fulfilling. Working for a non-profit allows us as a team to pursue the interests and outcomes for each student and family in a way that would not be possible with individual owners. I’m grateful to be able to contribute to a cause that is so personal to me."
